After completing my undergraduate studies at Penn State University, I went on to pursue my medical education at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. While I am the first osteopathic physician in my family, I was fully supported in my choice of schools, as it was agreed that the osteopathic beliefs and practices were kindred to my own.

During my graduate education, I was given the opportunity of training at some of the most prestigious hospitals in Pennsylvania. I had the pleasure of being taught by some of the most renowned physicians of the 20th century and relished every second of it. Soon came time for me to choose a post-graduate residency; I chose, and was accepted into the Internal Medicine residency program at Conemaugh Memorial Hospital in Johnstown, PA, where I completed an accelerated program, allowing me to complete a traditional four year residency/internship in three years. Since completion of residency, I have been practicing traditional Internal Medicine, maintaining an outpatient practice, while continuing to see my patients when they are admitted to the hospital.​

At the very end of my last month in residency, I welcomed the arrival of my first son, Ryan. Two and a half years later, I was blessed with my second son, Jack. Together with my husband Kevin, the boys, Milo (our dog), and Sooty (our cat), I live in happiness at our home, in Ebensburg.
